Journey to Zoson ~
the CD
Music, to me, should
create images in the mind of the listener, it should take
the listener on a journey, and that is what I try to do with
all of my music, whether the "unplugged" acoustic work or
projects like "Journey to Zoson."
Don't get me wrong, I love all kinds of music, but late at
night, when the caffeine wears off and you light some
candles and incense, then it is time to take a journey, time
to see into other places and times, and time to experience
the magic that music is.
"Journey to Zoson" is a culmination of over 20 years of a
project coming together. You could even say a lifetime of a
project coming together, for it is a journey of a lifetime,
or perhaps uncountable lifetimes.
Technology has given artists of all kinds; writers,
painters, poets and musicians the tools to work quickly and
easily, thus allowing the flow to flow, the muses to muse,
the soul to speak, without the interruptions of crews of
people, budgets, deadlines, commitments, etc.. We have come
to a time that the very technology that has distracted us
from the simplicity, has simplified the processes once
again.
A musician can sit quietly late at night with candles
burning in a bedroom, garage or even a backyard, and with
the help of a single computer, take their gifts and let them
flow into a medium that can be shared with others, and that
my young traveler is what all art is really about; sharing,
telling and showing.
Bear this in mind when thinking about "Journey," it is not
music for sitting around a crowded party, it is music to
journey into another place and another time, yet a place and
time that is always there, all around you, at every turn in
the road that leads you through your life.
Relax, close your eyes, and take the Journey to Zoson.
