Long ago, when I was still a child, I heard this song in one
of its many variations, and remembered, or should I say
awoke, and the journey that had lain dormant in the soul of
my sleeping ancestors until the right time came to began
again. It was the first step towards Zoson in over two
millennium.
Enter the Gate: As
with any journey, this one began with the first step, and
unbeknownst to me at the time, it was a gate, the first
gate. And as with any new place, there is a certain amount
of fear, of apprehension, involved until you have been there
for some time, and in a place where time does not exist, it
is hard to say just how long this can be.
The Faerie Ring: It
is said that to step inside of the magical ring will take
you to the other world for 7 years, but what if you are
already in that other world when you take the step? The
“forbidden fruit” has a different taste to those beyond
Cathode.
Weirdwood: The
edges of Weirdwood are constantly haunted by the Solfum. So
it is not at all strange to be afraid for they are always
seeking to take you. And if they succeed you will wonder
aimlessly between the borders of Zoson and Cathode forever.
Awakening: Who is
it that awakens? Or is it what? One must always be aware and
conscious in their travels, for along any path, especially
this one, there is something or someone waiting to turn you
from your path.
Psychromancer: The
dark magic lives in this one, and he is always seeking to
use you to his benefit. Cathode is his kingdom, and he will
never let go. It is up to you to see through the illusions
he creates in the minds of men, it is up to you to ward off
this evil magic. I cannot tell you who he is, for to speak
of him is to call him. But if you look closely, he is right
there, always, right there. The only way into Zoson is to
see past his lies.
Banks of the Senile:
All is not lost here in Zoson, though I am afraid to say it
seems so for Cathode. Beyond the mists you will find the
shore, and once you have entered you will forever know of
the land of the morning calm. And in this knowing, you will
find peace. But never think you do not have to walk with care,
and you must always walk consciously.
Echoes Across the
Hemispheres: Stretched out in front of you, infinite
places filled with wondrous journeys, mystical realms and
wonder-filled paths. This is Zoson, and it goes on forever.
Parallel to Cathode, but worlds apart, pick a path, any
path, for they are all yours.
So Far Yet to Go:
Getting here, to this place, it was just the beginning. Just
when you thought your journey was complete, it begins again.
But as the Ravyn said, “Inside us lies a wealth, worth not
to some the journey, though richer than the wealth be the
journey itself.”
